Adam and his team replaced my bathroom – new basin and toilet, re-plumbing of existing recent shower installation (to a much better standard than the original installer) and tiling of both the walls and floors. We are very happy with how the bathroom has been completed! Adam dealt with a number of unexpected issues that were encountered during the work in a very professional manner and talked me through what had been found and how best to approach them. I will be asking Adam to carry out further work on my house and have recommended him and his team to friends and family.

Adam was extremely helpful with the original estimate which was just to do the kitchen but once he started we decided to have the downstairs toilet and upstairs bathroom both done at the same time as Adam had a couple of weeks spare. Adam and Andrew were extremely polite, tidy and very hard working. My bathroom had to be gutted, and I needed the floor levelling and a new wall built before the plumbing and the tiling were installed. They protected the area around the bathroom from dust, and every evening, they tidied/ dusted/cleared the work area before going home. Adam explained everything to me as they went along, supported me in designing the bathroom, told me the deadlines for my purchases (sanitary ware) and other necessary work (e.g. the electrics) and installed everything efficiently and well.

I’m very happy with the quality of the work. The planning to the plumbing, electrics, tiling and decorating has been excellent and I would recommend their services to friends. We found A Martens Kitchens & Bathrooms to be very professional. We wanted to change our bath to a shower, but it turned out we had a soil pipe behind it. At first, we thought it would not be possible. Adam has dealt and arranged with the maintenance company, as with the neighbours above, and replaced and repositioned the cast iron pipe so that we could have the shower installed. In September 18, we employed Adam to refit our bathroom. We employed him after looking at the work that he did at next door neighbour, to whom they refit their bathroom and kitchen. Their work was very good, to a very high standard. The price was in line with other quotations. He said it would take three weeks to complete and they finished the date agreed. They always arrived on time in the morning and left in the evening after leaving the place clean. We can recommend him and his team who are very friendly and hard working.

Under Floor Heating – South Woodford

Adam and his team did a lovely job installing underfloor heating in our kitchen. We have relatively thick (~20mm) genuine terrazzo floor tiles which are made from cement and marble, so we were concerned they would feel very cold under foot. Thankfully the electrical underfloor heating system installed Adam heats the floor evenly and it feels nice and toasty, even in the winter months. He also installed a touchscreen wireless thermostat for the wall to control the temperature / schedule, and we can even control the thermostat from our mobile phones, which is great!

Kitchen – South Woodford

Adam is a great collaborator and a highly skilled, detail-oriented tradesman. Our new kitchen ticks every box and the quality of finish is truly exceptional. It was a big job- carpentry, plastering, painting, tiling, building, plumbing and electrical work- all executed to an incredibly high standard in a difficult room. The bespoke plywood doors we ordered from a specialist supplier and thick terrazzo floor tiles from Morocco made life even harder for Adam, but he very kindly acted a single point of contact and managed everything for us. We’re delighted with the end result. Highly recommended.

Adam has been great from the start. Friendly, excellent communication, and took our preferences into account. Quickly rectified any issues and the work was finished to a good standard. He took good care of our property throughout, e.g. laying out protective mats and sheets so no damage was caused.
